What's in a Color? 

This is my 3rd blog in my Color My Emotions series. I absolutely love color and enjoy creating the same item in many different colors...it brings a whole new experience to what I'm doing. Color My Emotions - Sapphire Sea

Your 3rd color choice in my Seashell Watercolor Collection is Blue Denim. I choose to rename this one at the last minute. Sapphire Sea is a more fitting name for the emotions swirling around with this one. I had planned a completely different topic to write about then what come out. All week I was thinking I was going to write about my daughter.  When she was 1 or so, I thought of the name Sapphire Rose, that is not her name, but I thought it was fitting and would've been a beautiful name. So this color made me think about that time, but this is not really her color. So when I sat down to write, the first thought that arose in my mind was the ocean and how I feel closest to God when I look at the ocean. He envelopes my thoughts and I feel at peace because I see how big the world is and that He is in control and I don't have to be. I'm in awe and mesmerized by the overall feeling of His presence at that time. 

Well, I am landlocked and seldom actually get to stand on the beach, and I know God is always there, so the poem came from the reality that God calls me to experience His presence in all circumstances, not just when I'm looking at the ocean. The poem is my idea of what God is saying to me and maybe to others who have the same type of personality I do....who might struggle with depression and feel closest to God in nature. I want to know He's there in the smallest of tasks and everyday life, not just the huge emotional moments sensitive people have....that is something I want to move from my head to my heart. 

Sapphire Sea

In the light of the Deep Blue Sea,

You notice Me. Oh that it would be in 

Every moment You sense my love,

Not just sent from above

But stirring from within

Break through those Dark Shades of Blue

To My eternal light.

It draws you out of the pit

Keeps you in the Light Blue Hue 

And colors your emotions with Joy!

I'm really enjoying writing poetry and I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful it has been for me. It's a creative outlet that allows me to share what I have going on inside of me!
