Creative Art Expressions Chalk Paint Upcycled DresserCreative Art Expressions Chalk Paint Up cycled DresserThis is my first furniture refinishing job with chalk paint! Or with anything for that matter. I've always wanted to redo furniture and eventually redo and make cute children's furniture. Well this is my first step towards that. This dresser was my husbands when he was a boy and it is now my little boy's! I asked Refunk My Junk , a retailer of Ce Ce Caldwell Paints, questions and she was quick to respond with the answers I needed. I did some light sanding on this dresser to remove deep scratches, but you don't have to sand before hand to use chalk paint. I painted 2 coats of Nantucket Spray Ce Ce Caldwell chalk paint and coated it with a durable satin finish. I kept the dresser from being used for a week after coating it, then put it in my son's room. It takes a month to cure completely depending on humidity. I'm excited about future posibilites and plan on up cycling a lot of furniture in my house. It will be slowly because the paint is expensive unless I start making my own paint. Be on the look out for some more up cycled furniture in the future. Eventually I will offer it for sale, once I get really good at it!
